A Hunk under the Hoist

Our Georgeous and Gracious Host
Jenna, Our Gorgeous and Gracious Host

Put me in a flirty wrap dress, a pair of strappy sandals and destiny continually reveals new creative writing places – today it was the service bay and lounge of Walser Buick.  Strawberry blonde, curled and flowing tresses, a bright smile and décolletage slightly revealing will often elicit compliments, further introductions and pampering.  Revealing was my foremost desire when introduced to Manuel, the hunk under the hoist, into whose care my Verano was soon entrusted – It was I who wanted to reveal more,  of him, and perform caring service . . .  Christine!!!

As I attempted to still my quickened pulse, I was offered and escorted to a cozy corner in the lounge.  Having been showered with pleasant, inquiring conversation, the daily newspaper and 20-ounces of sugar free caffeine – and from my passions still stirring, flowed the outline, in words, to the next two chapters of my new novel, Abigail’s.  Will they think it odd if I schedule another oil change, lube and systems check after 300 instead of 3,000 miles?

Passions were also stirring that evening during and after the Stella & Dot trunk show I was invited too.

We gathered at the home of Lauri’s sister Beth, and I was blessed to reconnect with friends who helped make the second to last chapter, Follow your Heart, of my memoir so memorable!  Beautiful and charming Jenna and her gracious mother pampered us all evening.  Snacks and treats, wine and drinks helped free all to relax and enjoy good company, good cheer and fine jewelry.  Jenna has forwarded me a youtube link demonstrating 20-ways to wear my new necklace – thank you Jenna – and Beth.

I met Jenna the day of my birthday lunch, only days after she had finished my memoir – My words touched her heart and the hearts of her parents.  They were the next to begin reading her copy and when I arrived at her parent’s home, I was welcomed by her father – greeted with a warm hug, and in a soft whisper he shared, “Your hockey chapter brought back vivid tournament memories and a tear to my eye, you are a gifted writer.”  Such an unexpected compliment. . .

Jenna’s trunk show was a success, and as the evening lingered many earlier informal introductions became new friendships.  I was one of the last to leave and received requests for numerous signed copies of my memoir.  When hearts remain open, it always amazes as to what will be revealed and shared.  It was a day filled with blessings, blessings that will continue. . .

Such a small, inter-connected world we live in . . .  Karen, a new friend from Jenna’s trunk show, informed me during our conversations that the corner grocery store referenced in my previous blog post – the store across from Children’s Hospital that recently was engulfed in fire – and that I have been commissioned for the new design concept – was her favorite, “my little grocery store,” when she was growing up.
